Düsseldorf Regional Court: Integration of the Facebook button inadmissible without further measures

The Düsseldorf Regional Court has prohibited a company from using the Facebook button as intended by Facebook - without additional measures. The direct integration violates German data protection law. The company concerned must inform the website visitor about the circumstances relevant to data protection and obtain consent before activating the Facebook button. VOELKER has already pointed out this problem in the past.
