EU: New General Data Protection Regulation
A new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is still in preparation.
The GDPR is intended to be a directly applicable European regulation that regulates data protection law uniformly across the EU. At the same time, outdated data protection principles are to be fundamentally revised and adapted to today's technical conditions. Much is still in flux, which is why e-commerce providers cannot yet make any meaningful changes. It is currently planned that coordination between the EU Commission, EU Council and EU Parliament will begin in June of this year.
