Municipal digitization projects Legally compliant town hall

Digitalization permeates almost all areas of work and poses a variety of challenges for public administration.

The topic is particularly multifaceted in the municipal sector: whether it's paperless workflows, adjustments to infrastructure, investments in technical equipment or the use of software, projects often focus on questions such as: where do you get meaningful data from, how can you use or process it, how can high synergy effects be achieved and what needs to be taken into account?

Municipal digitalization projects therefore require not only a willingness to change, strategy and investment funds, but above all the right know-how. The basis for a successful project is - in addition to many other factors - a sound knowledge of the law. The latest EU digitization laws are an essential basis for future administrative action.

The seminar is therefore aimed in particular at the top management of the town hall, the heads of offices and municipal companies - but also at responsible employees - in public administration who are involved in digitization projects and would like to acquire new knowledge or refresh their existing knowledge.

Our speaker, lawyer Dr. Gerrit Hötzel, is highly qualified as a specialist lawyer for copyright and media law and as a specialist lawyer for information technology law. His vivid presentation is particularly convincing due to his technical understanding and practical content. Questions are expressly welcome.

The seminar will provide an overview of the effects and regulations of the new EU digital law - Data Act (DA), Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), Data Governance Act (DGA) and Artificial Intelligence Act (AIA) - and the impact on municipal projects.

In particular, the following are addressed:

  • Disclosure and provision of data

  • Data "ownership"

  • IT security requirements

  • What is "data altruism"

  • Concept of data exchange platforms

  • Excursus: AI
