Drafting of dispute-avoiding and tax-optimized wills

If a person dies without having made an effective will or other testamentary disposition, the legal succession takes effect. The legal consequences associated with this often do not correspond to the wishes of the testator and are often the cause of disputes between relatives. For example, in a large number of constellations, intestate succession leads to the creation of an undesirable community of heirs that is difficult to administer and offers considerable potential for conflict with regard to its settlement. These and many other difficulties can be avoided by making clear provisions in a will. In addition to the economic and legal protection of the longer-living spouse, the equal treatment of descendants, the consideration of advance receipts, the preservation of family and business assets and, in particular, the avoidance of an unnecessary inheritance tax burden are of considerable importance.
